William (Bill) Peloza | Obituary

William (Bill) Peloza, 86, of Auburn, WA passed away April 29, 2020, peacefully at home with his loving wife, Joyce, and close friends by his side. He fought a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Bill was born in Ballard, WA to Joseph and Julia Peloza on January 12, 1934. He attended Catholic schools in Seattle, the University of Washington, and UCLA. He served in the US Navy on the Pittsburgh Heavy Cruiser during the Korean War. He retired from Boeing in Contract Management after 38 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; Dawn Nelson (daughter); Christian Peoloza (son), and 5 grandchildren. Bill and Joyce celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary last October.

He had a passion for community service and dedicated many years and hours to various organizations. He served on the Auburn City Council for 16 years and retired as Deputy Mayor, former Commander of local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, a member of Sons of Italy and Rotary, and many other organizations.

His life passions were gardening, laughing with friends, golf with 2 holes in 1 at the Auburn course; and playing 7 rounds of golf at Pebble Beach, CA.

Celebration of Life to be determined later.

    Bill was THE go to guy for the Auburn Farmers’ Market. He and Joyce came every week and certainly made volunteers feel needed and appreciated. Joyce and Charlie always had a little contest regarding the first BLT’s of the season. A terrific person, indeed.
