Jazzbones is an unassuming club in a trendy section of Tacoma, WA. I’d honestly never seen a club show in Tacoma – usually, I venture north to Seattle for those kinds of shows.  I was at Jazzbones to see Walking Papers.  The venue holds 400 people, but it felt much smaller than that – a pro and a con. When you walk in the front door there is a bar to your immediate left and narrow aisle separating you from the main stage area. Drinks were cheap – especially compared to Seattle venues. I had a gin & tonic (or two) and paid $5 per drink.

Upstairs is another bar, some lounge seating, and some great views of the stage. After checking out upstairs I headed to the main stage area and made my way to the very front. Navigating to the front of the club was what I would expect for a sold-out show.

The club is a fairly easy venue to leave once the show is over and traffic is light in that section of town late at night. I’d definitely make plans to attend a show at Jazzbones again.
