Reports are alerting a state-wide outage of 911 systems. This outage is impacting counties throughout Washington, and in other states. It is due to a CenturyLink outage.
From Valley Communications: At this time Valley Com is receiving 911 calls, 10 Digit & 911 text calls. The situation is very fluid. If you cannot get through on 911, please call Valley Com’s 10 digit phone line: (253) 852-2121.
ONLY CALL 911 FOR EMERGENCIES. DO NOT CALL TO TEST IF THE SYSTEM IS WORKING
Valley Com staff are initiating test calls frequently to ensure our service is continuous. We are in the process of notifying all the police, fire and EMS field supervisors for information.

Media partners: King County asks that you let your readers, viewers, and listeners know that the 9-1-1 system in Washington State is down at this time. No calls are getting through to the 9-1-1 centers, either on landlines or cell phones.
People who are having an emergency in King County can call the ten-digit emergency number for the police or fire agency in their area on a landline or cell phone, or they can use Text-to-911 on their cell phone.
There is no estimate for restoration of 9-1-1 service. No additional details are available at this time.
