UPDATED: 18-Year-Old Male Found Dead in Lea Hill’s Berkshire Glen Park

Auburn Police were called to do a welfare check Tuesday afternoon at the Berkshire Glen Park on Lea Hill and found an unresponsive 18-year-old male.  The medical examiner pronounced the individual deceased on scene.

Per Auburn Police Commander Mike Hirman the decedent died prior to 2:00pm Tuesday, October 1st.  An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

Hirman stated no signs of violence or weapons were found on the scene.


UPDATE (Oct. 3, 2019, 2:15pm):  The King County Medical Examiner has performed the autopsy of the 18-year-old male found in Berkshire Glen Park Tuesday, October 1.  The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death pending the results of a toxicology screen.  These results are expected back in approximately six weeks. Until this time both the cause and the manner of death will remain pending.

Hirman reconfirmed that there were no signs of violence or trauma at the scene.

While the Auburn Examiner has the identity of the individual, we will not be releasing it out of respect for his family and loved ones.

Correction: A previous update of this article indicated police were informed that the decedent was a known drug user.  We have been updated that this information is incorrect and such information was not provided to the police.  Per the family, the individual had no history of known drug use.
