Three Auburn High School Football Teams Triumph in First Game of Season

Saturday saw Auburn Riverside High, Auburn Mountainview High, and Auburn Thomas Jefferson play their first varsity football games of the season. The three Auburn high schools weren’t the only teams to hit the field Saturday, making for a very active Saturday in the world of high school football around the sound.

Auburn High School played and won their season opener Friday, September 3.

Auburn Riverside outlasts Mercer Island 49-35

No quarter was granted as Auburn Riverside blunted Mercer Island’s plans 49-35 at Mercer Island High on September 3. At 4th & 12 in the second, the Ravens kicked a solid 29-yard field goal. Both teams were shut out in the first and third quarters.

The Ravens host Eastlake (Sammamish, WA) to confront the Wolves in a non-league test on Friday, September 10.

Auburn Mountainview dismantles Kentridge in convincing manner 46-14

Auburn Mountainview showered the scoreboard with points to drown Kentridge (Kent, Wa) 46-14 during this non-conference football game. Each offense authored its Rip Van Winkle imitation, napping through barren first and third quarters.

Andrew Thompson was on fire, adding to AMHS’ 46-14 win with an impressive 69-yard touchdown run.

The next AMHS game is a conference away game at Kentlake on Friday, September 10 at 7:00p.m.

Gut-tough defense was the order of the day when Auburn Thomas Jefferson stuffed Federal Way Todd Beamer 34-0 to the tune of a shut-out in Friday’s game. Neither squad could muster points in the first and third quarters.

Jefferson varsity hosts Decatur (Federal Way, WA) on Thursday, September 9 at 6:00 p.m. for their next non-conference game.

A suffocating defensive performance helped Sammamish Eastlake blank Covington Kentwood 53-0 in Sunday high school football action September 4. Sammamish Eastlake authored an impenetrable defensive effort to blank Covington Kentwood in the first and fourth quarters.

The Wolves broke in front at the beginning of the fourth quarter with a 53-0 lead over the Conquerors.

Puyallup turns out the lights on Sammamish Skyline 44-17
