The Impact Project Hosts Winter Items Donation Drive

The Impact Project, a community project lead by Kelly Lindberg, is hosting a drive-thru Winter Items Drive this Saturday, February 20, at Sunset Park in Lakeland Hills. All items collected will be donated to the Domestic Abuse Women’s Network (DAWN) organization and the YMCA’s Social Impact Center.

“The Domestic Abuse Women’s Network is honored for the support of this project,” said DAWN Executive Director Angela Dannenbring. “Our survivors are starting new chapters, often without basic items, as they are forced to leave items behind while fleeing high lethality scenarios.”

Items The Impact Project is requesting include gloves, beanies/hats, socks, blankets, and other basic winter supplies. Due to COVID-19, these items must all be new, but no specific sizes, colors, styles are being requested. “Any new items are appreciated! We are reminding everyone that kid sizes are also very important,” Lindberg said.

The project is also requesting boxed and individually wrapped snacks.

“After reaching out to DAWN, we figured out their families could use so much support with new winter items,” shared Lindberg. The snacks, Lindberg explained, are being collected “for the YMCA’s Social Impact Center to help fill their pantry for the teens who they support on a daily basis.”

Dannenbring echoed Lindberg’s sentiment, “all items donated help our survivors and families receive comfort as they make their next steps.”
