Student Walk Out, Today

Student walk outs are planned throughout the country today in response to the February 14th Parkland Shooting at

Stoneman Douglas High School.

Students within the Auburn School District will be joining in that walk out. The walk out is planned, nationwide, at 11am.

Both Auburn High School and Auburn Mountainview High School students plan to walk to the administration building and then city hall. Students at Auburn Riverside High School will be walking out of class, but no plans for a march have been shared. The walk outs will last 17 minutes (prior to the march) in honor of each life lost in the Parkland school shooting.

The ADS had confirmed that there will be no moves made to stop students from taking part in this walk out. Students who do take part in this walk out will receive an unexcused absence, as is district policy. Parents may contact their child’s school and excuse the absence, however.
