The 2020 LLS Scott Firefighter Stairclimb scheduled for this Sunday, March 8th has been postponed.

“The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is monitoring carefully the coronavirus situation and making changes to its schedule of events as warranted,” reads a statement from LLS.  “Our first priority is the safety of our LLS Firefighter Stairclimb participants, volunteers, staff and all members of the public involved in our fundraising and mission events. Thus, we are postponing our LLS Firefighter Stairclimb on March 8. Importantly, first responders must be able to perform their duties without distraction, and we do not want to provide any barriers to their critical work in the Washington area and beyond. We hope to have information about rescheduled events very soon.

“We will continue to monitor the CDC website, and adhere to national government and local health official guidance as we evaluate our event schedule. We encourage you to stay informed, as well: CDC website.”

The Valley Regional Fire Authority has a 14 member team registered for the 2020 stairclimb.  We will update when a new date for this event is published.
