Rep. Schrier Sworn In to Second Term Representing Washington’s 8th Congressional District

Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) was officially sworn in for her second term as the Representative for Washington’s 8th Congressional District.

“I am honored to continue representing the people of the 8th district and to be their voice in Washington D.C.,” said Rep. Schrier. “Our country is facing an unprecedented pandemic and economic fallout from the pandemic. As one of the few doctors in Congress and as a new member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, I look forward to leading our country’s public health response. And I will continue to work with the federal and state governments to get our economy reopened and children back into school as soon as it is safe to do so.”

After serving as a member of the Committee on Agriculture and Education and Labor Committee during the 116th Congress, Rep. Schrier will serve as a member of the powerful Energy and Commerce Committee in the 117th Congress. Additional subcommittee assignments will be announced in the coming weeks.
