Marcus Yzaguirre selected as ARHS Head Football Coach

The Auburn Riverside High School athletic department announced the selection of Marcus Yzaguirre as head football coach. Yzaguirre will replace Bryant Thomas who resigned in April after five seasons leading the Ravens.

Yzaguirre will be a familiar voice for the Ravens. The past five years he has been the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach for Auburn Riverside. At Auburn Riverside, Yzaguirre has been part of two league champion teams and was named the 2013 SPSL Assistant Coach of the Year. Prior to coaching at Auburn Riverside, Yzaguirre spent six years coaching at Federal Way High School where he was named the 2012 Tacoma News Tribune All-Area Offensive Coordinator of the Year. Auburn Riverside finished the 2017 season as NPSL Olympic Division Co-Champions with an 8-2 record.

Yzaguirre said “I am excited about the opportunity of becoming the head football coach at Auburn Riverside and look forward to continuing to build a program the school and community will be proud of. I’m especially excited to continue working with a special group of kids I have had the pleasure of building great relationships with. I have learned just as much from them as they have from me”

“Marcus Yzaguirre is a quality individual who has been a big part of successful programs everywhere he has been,” said Doug Aubert, Auburn Riverside athletic director.

Yzaguirre teaches at Auburn Arhs, Auburn riverside high school, football, arhs football, marcus YzaguirreRiverside and also has been head track coach and as an assistant basketball coach.
