Keliher’s nomination statement:

Lew Keliher is the Director of Career and Technical Education in the Auburn School District. This past year, he has gone above and beyond during the pandemic to support instructors in teaching remotely and finding online resources to help students gain skills during distance learning. He excels in producing high-quality workforce development systems that are aligned with closing the employment gap for the Auburn School District and the greater Auburn community. Mr. Keliher works closely with business partners to ensure our students are experiencing industry standards in the classrooms. He serves the community on several local, state, and national advisory boards and had dedicated his life towards closing the employment gap. Lew Keliher, without a doubt, deserves the recognition this award would provide.

The SPOTLIGHT Awards Program is an annual initiative of the Auburn Area CONNECT Chamber of Commerce that recognizes businesses, nonprofits and community leaders in the Auburn Area, who serve the community and, through their business products/services, employee programs, volunteerism and/or mission statement, benefit and improve the Auburn Area and help our region thrive as a center of economic activity and social leadership in the South Puget Sound. Members of the community are invited each year to nominate a deserving business, nonprofit or individual leader for our SPOTLIGHT recognition. Following the nomination period, Auburn Area CONNECT board members and members of the business community vote on the nomination they believe best represents the spirit of each award.
