Latest Election Results Close the Gap Between Mulenga and Burnett

The Auburn City Council Position No. 5 race was the closest race election night.  Each ballot count release in the following days did not make much notable change in the gap between opponents Ryan Burnett and Robyn MulengaThursday’s multi-county results tightened the gap significantly.

Mulenga Tightens the Gap

Initial results had Burnett leading Mulenga in both King and Pierce County.  Burnett’s lead in Pierce County was the largest at 16.33% (137 votes).  King County was tighter, a difference of .77% (49 votes).  Now, Mulenga leads in King County.  However, Burnett’s Pierce County lead remains firm.

Mulenga’s lead in King County is only by .85% (72 votes).  Burnett’s lead in Pierce County is 9.33% (117 votes).  The combined number of votes between Burnett and Mulenga is 45 votes.

The remaining Auburn City Council race results have not notably changed.  Chris Stearns’ current multi-county results are 97.62%.  The Auburn City Council Position No. 3 race remains fairly unchanged, with James Jeyaraj leading opponent Ken Pearson by 8.75% (847 votes).  Bob Baggett leads opponent Vera Orlandic-Hodak by 4.73% (461) in the Auburn City Council Position No. 7 race.

In the only contested Auburn School District Board of Directors race (District No. 2 Director), Chris Grames leads Arlista Holman by 1.54% (173 votes).

King County has Auburn’s voter turn out at 26.94%, with 9,641 ballots counted from the 35,782 26.94 in the city. Pierce County shows that 1457 ballots were returned from the 5099 registered Auburn voters, for a turnout of 28.57%.

The next King County results release will be 4:00pm Friday afternoon and 8:30pm Friday evening. Pierce County will release results at 4:00pm on Friday.  Results will not be released on Monday, November 11th as it is a Federal Holiday.
