The 2019 General Election brought higher-than-expected turnout with 48.5% of active registered voters returning their ballots, including the approximately 216,500 returned to our 68 drop boxes just on Election Day.

To ensure that voters, campaigns, candidates, and measures have a clearer picture of results heading into the weekend, King County Elections (KCE) plans to post results twice on Friday afternoon and evening, with postings expected at 4 pm and 8:30 pm. KCE expects to include approximately 110,000 ballots in the first posting, with an additional 50,000 in the later posting, leaving only about 5% of ballots left to count.

“With all of the late returns in this General election, our team is working incredibly hard to ensure meaningful results are available before the long weekend. Thanks to our voters, media, campaigns, and community partners for their patience and support as we continue to tally the votes we received from across King County,” stated Director of Elections Julie Wise.

There are currently no plans to post results on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11. The next results posting for King County will take place at 4 pm on Tuesday, November 12.
