Help ‘Fill the Truck’ to Support Auburn Students

The Auburn Public Schools Foundation (APSF) is celebrating ten years of serving Auburn School District students. Among the foundation’s achievements is ensuring students have access to food, clothing, and hygiene items through a pantry at each school. With the help of Valley Buick GMC, you can help ensure these pantries remain stocked.

Partnering with APSF and the Auburn Food Bank, Valley Buick GMC is holding a ‘Fill the Truck’ event to collect nonperishable food and items on the APSF ‘Unmet Needs’ list.  The ‘Fill the Truck’ event runs through the end of December.

Donations can be dropped off anytime during normal business hours to Valley Auburn Buick GMC (3104 Auburn Way South). Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Auburn community, the GMC pick-up has already been emptied once. Though that may seem enough, due to COVID-19 both APSF and the Auburn Food Bank continue to experience higher demand.

Those who would like to donate but are unable to make it to the showroom can order from the APSF Amazon list. (link). Donation pick-up* is available on a limited basis for homebound individuals who would also like to donate. Valley GMC Buick logo

Want to donate but can’t afford new items?

Current holiday sales are a great time to find deals. As APSF serves students all year, getting out-of-season items from the clearance section is another way to make your dollar go further.

Does your employer match?
Many employers do donation matching. Both the Auburn Food Bank and Auburn Public Schools Foundation are 501C3 nonprofits. So check with your employer to see if they have a matching program, or if they’re willing to make a donation from the company.

Want to increase your donation?
If you still want to do more, hold a mini-donation drive of your own!  Donation drives can be held at football practice, with a community organization, a troop, at a holiday party, with neighbors, places of worship, and so many other places. Don’t think you have to wait for “next time,” donation drives can last any duration.
