King County’s Solid Waste Division invites you to take part in an online open house to help shape the design of a new recycling and garbage transfer station coming to south King County in 2023. The online forum will be open for public comment through March 24, 2019.
The new facility, set to begin operating in 2023, will serve the cities of Algona, Auburn, Federal Way, Pacific, and surrounding unincorporated areas. It will replace the outdated Algona Transfer Station, which has been in service for more than 50 years.
Planned features will modernize operations, reduce community impacts, and make recycling and safe disposal of garbage and hazardous waste more convenient for south King County communities.
We’d like to hear your ideas on sustainable design features, services to be offered, and impacts and benefits to the community.
To participate in the online open house, please visit the project website at www.kingcounty.gov/south-
