Closed Because of COVID-19

The Clinic was temporarily closed in early 2020 while research began to determine best practices for minimizing Covid-19 infections and strict state mandates closed many organizations. With limited resources, CCFC leaders believed it prudent to close the clinic to protect both patients and providers.

CCFC Clinic Coordinator said local volunteer doctors and nurses have answered the call to resume seeing patients at the clinic in July and that current mandated safety protocols will be in place to protect both volunteers and patients.

“The pandemic has taught us that access to basic health care is essential to maintaining public health”, said Mike Morrisette, the CCFC’s new Executive Director, “going forward, it’s going to be a team effort for us all to stay healthy. That’s where free medical clinics like ours come in.”

Once re-opened, CCFC will reach out to the community seeking additional resources to expand services. “Our mission is to take care of people who are underinsured or without medical insurance”, said Jeffrey Johnson, CCFC Board Treasurer, “because of high insurance premiums, many individuals can’t afford to cover their spouse on their employer group health plan.
