Fire Destroys Vacant Lea Hill Home

Several passersby reported a residential fire in the 28900 blk of 124th Ave S fire on Lea Hill early Tuesday morning. Crews from Valley Regional Fire Authority, Puget Sound Fire, King County Medic One, and Zone Three 3 Rehab were dispatched 1:30 am, the first unit arriving on scene at 1:37 am. The home was a one-story dwelling with a walkout basement.

Crews arrived to a working fire, with heavy conditions. Smoke and fire were reported to be coming from the roof.  Command had firefighters on a defensive strategy early on in the attack of the fire.  The fire way tapped, or under control/out and no emergency remaining, at 2:35am.

Neighbors have informed command the home has been vacant and under remodel for some time. The crews also found no victims in their search.

Crews remained on the scene to ensure all hot spots were cleared.  PSE arrived and shut off utilities to the home.

Fire investigators were still on scene as of 8:30 am.
