All students in the Auburn School District are eligible for free school breakfast and lunch beginning next month through the end of the 2026 school year.

The district has been approved to operate the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) to provide meals for all students. From the beginning of the pandemic in March of 2020 through the end of the 2022 school year, school meals were free for all students. Without CEP, families would have had to begin to pay for meals again, unless they qualified for free or reduced lunch.

Associate Superintendent Cindi Blansfield said, “Being able to continue to provide healthy, nutritious meals for all students is a great support for families in Auburn.”

The ASD serves about 9,500 lunches and 5,500 breakfasts each day during the school year.
