Miss Auburn, Miss Auburn’s Outstanding Teen Playlist:

We asked the candidates from the Miss Auburn and Miss Auburn Outstanding Teen competition to contribute a song to a playlist that would represent the 2020 class.  Here are the candidates, the songs they chose, and why they chose them.

Reilly Mahoney “Put the Gun Down” – Andy Black: “I chose this song because of my platform talk to save, the utilization of the national suicide hotline and crisis lines like it.”

Farrell Sessler – ‘Bleed the Same’ – Mandisa:  I love this song because I always hope that in every moment we don’t judge others because that’s not our job. But God does want us to show his love to this world, and spread love instead of darkness!

Taylor Olsen-Dement – ‘One Step at a Time’ – Jordin Sparks: I really like this song because it reminds me to slow down in my busy life and not get so caught on the little things.

Katie Storm – “Love Me” – JJ Heller: I am choosing this some because we all have felt alone at some point in our lives. This song reminds me of God’s love for me and inspires me to share God’s love with everyone around me!

Rosalinda Tomich – “Make Way” – Aloe Blacc: “I chose this song because it inspires me to be my best self and I know I will make an impact on this world.”

Jasmyn “Experience” – Ludovico Einaudi:” I chose this song because every time I listen to it, I honestly come to tears. It takes me down an emotional roller coaster. I believe that people, especially my generation, have lost the passion for classical music. I hope by sharing this piece to the playlist, I can inspire others who listen and re-spark an interest in classical style music.”
