Bomb Threat Called in to Auburn Department of Corrections Office

A bomb threat was called in to the Auburn Department of Corrections office Monday afternoon. Auburn Police closed roads surrounding the DOC office and evacuated nearby businesses.

The threat alleged the bomb was to detonate between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., said Auburn Police Commander Mike Hirman.

The Port of Seattle has arrived on the scene to assist Auburn Police in clearing the building.

This is a developing situation. We will update as we are able.

Update July 15, 2020: Auburn Police Commander Mike Hirman confirmed the scene was cleared with no injuries or damage. In an effort to prevent any potential duplication of this incident, no further information will be provided.
