When the final results are in, the top two candidates will move on to the general election.

Candidate Reactions

“I am pleased that the Auburn community came out and showed their support.  I am looking forward to the final results,” said Mulenga.

Burnett shared his thoughts on the preliminary results as well.  “I’m very excited to see the results!  This is just the beginning, and the results tell me I have work to do.  Expect to see me out in the community, knocking on doors, attending community events so that I can hear what the community has to say.  I have already heard from some of our local business leaders and have plans of setting up meetings with more of them to hear their ideas and opinions.  Not only do I want to be guided by a sense of what is right and fair, but I also want to be guided by the voices of our city’s residents.

“Auburn, contact me at the number provided in the voter’s pamphlet, connect with me on my Facebook page, [or] email me, I want to hear what you have to say!  I be in the Auburn Days Parade with (some of) my children,  Saturday, August 10 from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and will also have a booth set up at Les Gove Park, I invite you to come down and have a conversation!”

King County Proposition 1

King County Proposition 1, which would replace an expiring tax levy.  The funding the tax levy provides goes toward funding for county, town, city, parks; as well as for open space, trails, recreation, public pools, zoo operations, and an aquarium capital project.

Election night results show the proposition passing with 67.25% of voters approving the proposition.

Port Commissioners

Both Seattle and Tacoma had Port Commissioner races in the primary elections.  Beyond clear favor Fred Felleman for Seattle Port Commissioner Position No. 5, many of these races still have room to change with future result releases.
