These projects may change unannounced due to the weather or unforeseen circumstances. There may be additional projects we have not received notice of.

Continuing Work

Continuing Projects:

The following projects are continuing into and/or through the week of September 6th-10th

Location: Auburn Way North/South – 4th St SE to 22nd St SE
Work:
City Pavement Preservation Project
Dates and Times:
Weekdays 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Impact: Disruptions to both directions of traffic on weekdays 

Location: M Street SE from 8th Street SE to Auburn Way South
Work:
City Sidewalk Project
Dates and Times:
Weekdays 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Impact: Disruptions to southbound lane(s) Monday through Friday

Location: State Route 164 east of Auburn 
Work:
Building a new 170-foot long bridge over Pussyfoot Creek
Dates and Times:
Monday, July 1 – estimated 90days 
Impact: Road Closed, detours in place

  • Passenger vehicles can use 212th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 400th Street. Part of this route is not suitable for large commercial vehicles.
  • Commercial vehicles will use SR 169 and Southeast 400th Street. These roads are better able to accommodate large trucks.

Other Alerts:

The following projects may impact traffic in and around Auburn 

  • City of Pacific started construction on their Stewart/8 St E Widening project, impacts to traffic and delays should be anticipated within the south end of the City and into Pacific and Sumner.
  • The State Department of Transportation is constructing their NB SR 167 HOV lane project between SR410 and SR18. This project will include detours of traffic from SR167 using local roadways, impacts to traffic and delays should be anticipated.
  • The State Department of Transportation is also doing night work on SR18 to replace/repair the median barrier from Federal Way through Auburn and will impact traffic at times.

White River Amphitheater:

The next concert scheduled at the WRA is on September 17th
