Auburn Symphony: The Planets Streaming for a Limited Time

Auburn Symphony Orchestra continues its digital season with a special performance from
the archives. A spectacular multimedia performance of Holst’s The Planets accompanied by
stunning space imagery by Adrian Wyard will be available to stream for free from October
22 through November 22. Simply go to auburnsymphony.org to view the performance on
any streaming device.

When this piece was performed on April 29, 2018, it was to a sold-out audience. The live
recording will now be available for a limited time to stream from anywhere.
Auburn Symphony was joined by guest conductor Anthony Spain and Seattle based artist
Adrian Wyard, who provided live visual accompaniment. The performance was recorded live
at the Auburn Performing Arts Center.

Wyard’s visuals for this event include dazzling NASA images for each planet. All of the
photos, animations, and videos are based on truth and incorporate real space imagery.
Choreographed live, the visuals follow the emotional journey of the symphony’s music
performance, matching it beat by beat and providing a dramatic and immersive experience
that guarantees fun for all ages.

Adrian Wyard is a Seattle-based visual artist, and former designer & program manager at
Microsoft. He has over 20 years of experience working in digital media, including computer
graphics, photography & videography, as well as software design. Adrian also has a Master’s
degree in the history of science from Oxford University, and has been a longtime
appreciator of classical music.

Auburn Symphony has a number of digital offerings patrons can enjoy from home. Around
the World String Quartet, and Uncommon Voices Wind Quintet, plus many solo videos, are
available now.

New performances are debuting nearly every week. Check auburnsymphony.org regularly for updates including performances and links to learning and listening resources. The Symphony is offering their concerts for free as a commitment to remain Creatively Connected to the community during this time.
