Dario Cugini was a generous man who gave of himself to the Auburn community in many ways. A longtime Auburn businessman, a charter member of the Auburn Rotary club, lively, intelligent, a great conversationalist and keeper of many friendships over the years.
His wife, Jo, was a true partner, working side by side in their beloved Cugini Florist business for many years. Cugini’s was the go-to place for proms, weddings, funerals, and special occasions.
One of Dario and Jo’s special interests was supporting education, in particular, scholarships at Green River College. Jo has been a member of Soroptimist International for many years, served as President twice, and supports the club and its activities. Soroptimist also supports education and was the first service club to endow a scholarship at Green River. As a tribute to Dario and honor to Jo, the club has made a $500 gift to the Auburn Soroptimist Scholarship at Green River, in Dario’s name.
Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that improves the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.
