Auburn Police Investigating Lea Hill Shooting

Shortly before 7pm Friday night units from the Auburn Police Department and Valley Regional Fire Department were dispatched to reports of a shooting at the Meadows on Lea Hill apartment complex.

“Upon arrival, [officers] learned that two males were involved in a physical confrontation inside one of the buildings,” the APD press release stated.

According to APD shots were fired when the confrontation escalated.  Officers on scene located one male near the complex pool area. “This male had been shot in the leg and was in possession of a firearm,” stated APD’s release.

The second male involved is believed to have fled the scene prior to police arrival.  Police have been unable to locate the second male.

Investigators are looking into unconfirmed information indicating the second male involved was shot in the chest, and that he fled the scene in a dark SUV.

Update 09/09/2019:  APD has released a video of a man they say is related to this incident.
