Auburn Police officers were dispatched to a stabbing incident in the 800 Block of 10th St NE Friday evening. Officers arrived to find a male with multiple stab wounds to his upper torso. The victim was life-flighted to Harborview Medical Center.

The victim reportedly responded to Johnson, objecting to his threats of vandalism. A verbal argument between the two men ensued. Johnson obtained a 10 inch knife and allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times.

Witness statements indicate that after the stabbing, Johnson attempted to forcibly gain entry into an apartment. The occupants of the apartment were able to prevent Johnson, still armed with the knife, from entering the apartment.
After failing to force his way into the apartment Johnson fled the scene in his KIA.
On Saturday morning Auburn Police updated that Johnson was in custody after having turned himself in to Seattle Police overnight. Three charges are associated with Johnson’s arrest: assault, felony harassment, and burglary. All three charges are in the investigation status. Johnson was booked into the King County Correctional Facility Saturday morning and his case remains on pending status.
It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this incident. According to Auburn Police Johnson is known to have mental health problems.
As of the last update the victim’s condition is stable.
