In November, the ASD Board of Directors asked the community to make suggestions for the name of Auburn’s newest elementary which will open in September 2020. The district’s fifteenth elementary will be located at 5701 Kersey Way SE.
A total of 275 students, staff, parents and community members submitted 168 different name suggestions. A committee of 18 narrowed the list to the final four.
The final four names are:
Bowman Creek Elementary (submitted by Mickey Fassbind & Shane Holmes)
Forest Ridge Elementary (submitted by Rachelle Mentink)
Harriet Tubman Elementary (submitted by Chris Horne)
Kersey Heights Elementary (submitted by Marla Carr)
On January 13 the School Board will consider the names for first reading and will select the name at the January 27 board meeting.
