President Biden has ordered all U.S. flags to half-staff from August 26, 2021, until sunset August 30, 2021, to honor the U.S. Service Members and other victims of the Kabul bombing.

More than 60 people have been killed in a targeted attack in Kabul, Afghanistan. Among those killed were at least 13 U.S. service members.
Two bombs exploded outside the U.S. controled Kabul airport, targeting people fleeing the country after the Taliban takeover.
The first explosion was a suicide at the airport’s Abbey Gate. The attack was followed by an assault by gunmen. The second bomb detonated at a hotel near the airport.
The casualty figures are expected to rise.
Reminder: when flying a flag at half staff the flag should be briskly run up to the top of the staff before being lowered slowly to the half-staff position.
