Graduation is a time to celebrate. But the Auburn High School PTSA knows that often graduation parties can include underage drinking.  Underage drinking too often leads to consuming too much alcohol, which may result in poor decisions, injuries, alcohol overdose, and possibly death.  To provide AHS’ 2019 graduates a fun, safe, atmosphere to celebrate the Auburn High School PTSA hope to bring back Grad Night.

2012 was the last year that Auburn High School hosted a Grad Night celebration.  Auburn High School PTSA is working hard to bring it back.   “We don’t want to turn any student away because they can’t afford to go.  So, we have a lofty fundraising goal, of $10,000 and we are asking for help from our community,” said PTSA member Sheilia McLaughlin.

To help raise funds the Auburn High School PTSA will be hosting a Spaghetti Feed and Open Mic night on Friday, May 3rd.  “There will be a Dessert Dash with desserts made by local artists and loving parents.  We will also have specialty booths set up so you can get Mother’s Day shopping done that same evening and amazing raffle baskets.  There will be Beer, donated by Rail Hop’n Brewery.  Wine will also be available for purchase,” said McLaughlin.rail hopin brews, auburn wa brewery

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.  See the Auburn High School PTSA  website at  https://www.auburnhighptsa.org/  to purchase your tickets.

“We are a 501(c)3 and we will gladly take donations for the cause at the website, email us at auburnhsptsa@gmail.com and we will send you a receipt for your taxes,” said McLaughlin.

The PTA’s fundraising deadline is May 31st.
