On Saturday, March 30th Sarah Greene passed away unexpectedly at the age of 34. The GoFundMe started to help support her husband and daughters remembers Greene as “a beautiful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Not only did Sarah leave behind adoring family and friends, but she also leaves behind students she greatly impacted.”
Knowing Sarah Was a Gift
Greene had been a teacher at Lea Hill Elementary for a little over four years. Her current classroom is a combined first and second-grade class. “As a teacher, Sarah transformed lives inside the classroom as well as outside,” reads the GoFundMe set up to support her family. Over the weekend and into Monday parents of students past and present reflected on the impact Greene had on their children.
“My son’s first-grade teacher. My heart is so heavy. Unreal,” posted one mother.
“She was my daughter’s first-grade teacher last year. She touched us all so much with her beautiful soul and was so kind-hearted. This is so heartbreaking for so many of us,” shared another.
Lea Hill hosted their 13th annual Family Bingo and Auction Night on Friday. Greene was in attendance, supporting her school. One parent reflected on Greene’s sudden passing, “She was at bingo night on Friday night, and the next morning she was gone. Just awful. She has 2 young girls, and she herself was young as well. It is so heartbreaking. I saw so many kids crying when I dropped my daughter off this morning.”

Greene is survived by her husband, Derrick and their two girls, Keela and Kamdyn. Knowing that her family will need support during this time, Greene’s friends and family have set up a GoFundMe. “[Her family] will need a lot of support in the next few days, weeks, months, and years, and any support would be greatly appreciated,” explains the GoFundMe.
The GoFundMe organizers were close friends and family members of Greene’s. Jennifer Maclin went to college with Greene, Kristina Paquette has known Green since childhood, and Jen Arlt is cousins with Greene. “All funds donated will be given to the Greene family to cover upcoming expenses,” states the GoFundMe.

Greene peacefully passed away in her sleep. The cause of her death is not known at this time. Please give Greene’s family, friends and loved one the respect and privacy they need to process this sudden loss.
